Nice one, Lynn.    Good theme, good performance.

For the intro, perhaps something along the lines of the reverse cymbal swell as suggested by Tony, but layered - picture the intro to Roundabout with a crash on the "one".  For the ending, perhaps a double hit?  Mix-wise, sounds pretty good on my cheap PC headphones here work.

You must have spent considerable time putting all of that together Lynn, it is really an amazing video and mix. I hope it gets more exposure.

Hi Lynn, this is quite a production. Well done. Mix sounds a bit compressed to me, even a bit distorted at the beginning, imho.

Hi There, This is the type of song that I wish I would have wrote. Harrison, Sting, McCartney and Lennon would be proud of it. I like every thing about it. The long vocal notes seem a bit long for your style, that could just be me, and I'm on a lap top listening. The video works well with it, I just thought there should have been more of you and your guitar in the video!!!

Cheers,
Terry

Really good song, Lynn.  Video and music coordinated nicely.  Everything sounded really good except it seemed there was a weak low end. The music has a really nice drive to it and I could hear a deep bass and percussion lending itself to enhancing that drive.  Just a thought.  I have great hope for the planet because I remember when streams and rivers were turning green.  We're turning things around.  later, buddy!

Steve, I like both your ideas on the beginning and ending of this song.  Thanks for your input and kind words.

Tim, thank you for your time and compliment.  I'm glad you enjoyed it.  The song took about 3 weeks to write and record, but the video took about a weekend to compile.  There's a lot of great and free clips out there.

Rikkie, I did intend to make this version a bit louder than the original, but I'm sorry you heard distortion.  Of course, the guitar's meant to be distorted but not the mix.  I don't hear it on my end, but if others hear it, I can back off the limiter in a heartbeat.

Hi Terry, are you in Colorado?  I really appreciate your extraordinary compliment, being mentioned in the same breath as those names.  Yeah, some of the vocal notes are long, but I wanted to prove that I can do more than quarter notes.  I couldn't show more of myself in the video because, basically, I'm all torso these days, and I didn't want to scare anyone away.

Lynn dude :)

your (more heavier) songs like these always remind me of Blue Oyster Cult and this one has some Rick Derringer in there in both vocal and guitar tones. the chord cadences are true homage to real radio rock of the late 70s. what brings this up to a whole 'nother level is the video and theme/ message portrayed in namely and lyrics - brilliant crisp film clips and shots (taj mahal, Rome etc..)  / I gave you a like on YOuTube. went to comment too but you now have to double-log in to uTube to comment(?new) those f*ckers  and i forget my google login it's just in my cookies somewhere ;p anyway so posting here my thoughts on your music as I just love true rocknroll

- cheers! - Daren :)

Very nice mix Lynn! I think I remember the original, and this one pops really well.

Daren, you seem to have a feel for my inspirations.  This song definitely has its roots in classic 70's rock with a little Todd Rundgren thrown in.  Thanks for your positivity and your own very fine works.

Dan, your words are much appreciated.  I always enjoy reading your reviews throughout the forum.

I like the song and remember commenting before.

Can you post it as an wav file? Maybe it's Youtube but it sounds distorted to me.

I love the theme of the pieces. Sad really when you think about Malaysian flight 370. They keep finding junk in the ocean but not plane. How are they supposed to find a plane in an ocean full of junk? To bad it did not crash in the middle of the Pacific. It probably would have floated on top of all that plastic, the size of Texas, in the water.
