Essential 4 will be included in Sonar SPLAT 2016. I will hold off any upgrades until I see what the new features are.
 
sometimes old features that were in the full-er versions creep into the newer lite or basic versions.
 
I'll hold off.

I'm on V2 Editor. Probably will only upgrade to V4 Editor. Unless they are giving away V4 Studio at NAMM.

Still very pricey at $499 to go from Editor 2 to Editor 4, I believe. Guess I will wait a while. Although could go from Editor to studio for a little over $260, still a bit rich for someone who only uses it occasionally.

Same here with the Editor, don't know how much more use I would get from Studio version. I was hoping we would get to see those upgrade prices yet today.

Went to put melodyne into a project and it said I could uprage and sent me to a store site to upgrade to Melodyne 4 for $99.  Good deal.  Now I am downloading it!

Almost same here but in Euro from editor 2.0 to 4.0. Seemed reasonable so already purchased, installed and activated.

apologize for my ignorance but could someone describe a real world songwriting example of what you can do in "studio" that you can't do in editor???  Thanks!

Apparently upgrading from Melodyne Essential 2 to Essential 4 is free.
 
Edith says: "All users who registered their Melodyne after Nov 1, 2015, get the update to Version 4 free of charge."
