Having worked with Cakewalk products since Home Studio 8/ ProAudio 9, I have had a few moments where I considered switching Daws, primarily due to stability issues, but I have always felt Cakewalk was getting the job done and offers a lot of bang for the buck.

So, now that I have played with X2 Producer, I am glad to see more focus on functionality. The quick zoom and highlighted track hight features work for me, and the pro channel enhancements will clean up operations. I notice the CPU usage is more evenly spread across cores, and I am discovering more goodies under the hood.

Don't get me wrong...lite versions of third party software are fun, but I hope the changes in functionality and stability signal a new direction of philosophy of development. Looking forward to X2a....

Gotta go... The damn cat just dragged a lizard into the studio
