The version that is up has been up a couple of weeks.  Hey guys, I don't think anyone is being a jerk or anything like that.  We are all writers and musicians.  I don't take any offense at anything here ever. I read the comments and then go back and see if I hear what others are hearing.  I am really a semi retired road dog who has toured and played for thousands of shows.  The last few years before I retired two years ago, I was touring at the level of large arenas, festivals, CMA shows etc....  Lots of bus time. I have never been the front man or singer. I am recognized as a fairly solid pro pedal steeler.  That is what I do best.   I love to write and record. I have quite a few years of recording experience and recently went back and took some additional formal recording courses at Berklee.  At 62, I find that I have much to learn. I am having a lot of fun... God Bless you guys!   steve

Leadfoot
It should be on the radio.

It is...
at least on some Texas reddirt stations.    I didn't know this until I got an email from someone I went to grade school with in Oregon. Her son lives in Austin and heard it on a "new Texas music" show of some type. He recorded it and the 30 or so other songs from different folks and sent it to her.  When she heard the dj mention "this is from a good ol boy  Steve Stallings who has been around the Texas music scene playing steel" she googled my web site and sent me a email asking I went to grade school in St. Helens Oregon.    Yep...    talk about a blast from the past.

I like the song.  The lead vocal is not sitting in the mix well.  It seems to be in its own sonic world compared to the guitars.  Maybe try so short reverb on it to help blend it in.
