Can anybody explain to me (in language a five year old would understand) how I go about putting a link in my profile signature and my rig spec in my comments so that they show underneath my posts please ?
I have, in my profile page, inserted a ling in my signature but it does not appear to be showing beneath my posts.

Well, since you need to have something like five posts before links will show, it probably wouldn't be good to be able to delete a post!
 
Just edit them to say something like "Ignore" or "." and you should be fine.
