I'm all for free speech, which is why i can say what I think. I only read it cos I thought there was a MAJOR FAULT with X2.
I've got a freedom to speak and a freedom to read!
You've got the right to disagree, fair play.
You want me to not post cos you said so?

Cheers
Steve.

i've been using cakewalk sinve version 1 (remember dod?

Let's face, the guys have honestly broke something simple
and pleasant to have. Visully S8.5 and earlier versions are
more visually pleasant to work with.

And something tells, considering all the nasty comments
on this subject since the release of X1, that they have
painted themselves in a corner by changing code in such
a way that it will be very difficult to bring it back up to the
quality of the pre-X1 releases; otherwise they would already
have properly corrected the situation.

"Show some respect and let free speech happen. If you don't like it, don't read it. Duh! "

Guitarpima, you forgot to add bold highlighting, exclamation marks, threat to move onto another product and a suggestion that it could all be a joke. Other than that of course you are entitled to your opinion ;).

If I had to guess .... now that Panup is working for them, Id say we'll see some sort of add-on that you pay for thwt allows all kinds of color and toolbar customizations, then in a few versions as sales slow down, they'll give it to us.

I'm not reading any more posts unless they are written in highly colourful letters. Practice what you preach.

Hi everyone.

I've customized some of colors for X2.

I don't want to post my screen shot within my post because its too big but here is a link to a screen shot.
http://www.nuevo-flamenco.com/files/X2-Custom-Colors.JPG

The colors are a bit washed out in the JPG but you get the idea. I changed the foreground of the Audio and MIDI clips to 10 unique colors. I've changed the colors of the track text to make easier to differentiate between track types. I also changed the peak values in the track strips to be green and they stand out better than the default grey. Nothing major but it just adds a little more flavor to X2's colors.

Here is a link to a zip file with my X2 Scheme:

I use a nifty little tool from Sherwin Williams that shows colors with RGB values that can be applied in Sonar's color options. They have some nice color groups that work well for clips.   Here is a link to what I use:  https://www.sherwin-williams.com/visualizer/  When you first open this window you will need to click a few links to get the visualizer running. Start by clicking on the white box to the lower right that says Explore Colors and select Interior. Now go back towards the upper left of the app and look for Color Collections. Click on the tab underneath that heading for a drop down menu that will bring up some interesting color groups. These groups make for some nice choices on clips. Each color you click on will display the RGB values as well as the Hex value.

The colors are an issue with some, I understand this, but there's lots of other things I'd rather them add/fix than shout about this. Just my opinion.
I suppose if colors are the only problem so far I should be very pleased.

Cheers
Steve.

The TV background color can be changed AFIK. Perhaps the color you're looking for is "Track View Track Under"

When did papnup get a job with Cakewalk? Or are you referring to Benstat who got offered the job with Cakewalk.
Last I looked he was still working away on 'duckbar'.
