Freddy,

I think what you are looking for is under the Clips Pane Color Options:

View Background Odd
View Background Even

I changed these both to black and got a black background in the clips pane. The only thing I could not find a parameter for was the thin horizontal lines dividing each track lane. If you could change those to black you would have a completely black clips pane background.

Personally I like the default look of the clips pane. Especially with the new style of grid lines behind my clips.

Guitarpima, you forgot to add bold highlighting, exclamation marks, threat to move onto another product and a suggestion that it could all be a joke. Other than that of course you are entitled to your opinion ;).

I'll endeavour to be more cheeky than so serious.

...I'm more concerned it's always been misspelled...we all know its coloUr ;-).........I love it! In America, it's still spelled color & behavior & neighbor. In fact, in many places, they're still on 'dial up' for the internet, and couldn't figure out what Jimmy Carter was talking about when he tried to get the country to go metric in the 1980s like the rest of the modern updated world...Like I said - I love it!

Visully S8.5 and earlier versions are more visually pleasant to work with.

Not here - I much prefer X1's UI over previous versions.  I would still like the ability to color CV strips ala PT, but otherwise I really do prefer the way X1 looks.   I haven't loaded X2 yet, but from what I saw on the Webinar they've made some minor tweaks that look nice.

In the end, color just might be the most subjective aspect of SONAR or any other DAW.  Visit the S1 forums some time - it's a similar situation where users frequently have questions/requests about the the ability to change colors (you can't).   Personally I think S1 has a sharp looking UI, though some of the icons and tools are a little small for my tastes.   And its color scheme?  Grey and blue.     Go figure.

Yeah - I've owned Studio One for a few years now, and have Version 2 as well - no color options at all - it is a bit bland. Not deal breakers for me by any means, but I would like to have the options sooner rather than later.

I can't keep quiet any longer, please stop being a drama Queen, I use it to make music not paint pictures. SHOW SOME RESPECT and make your own effin program if you don't like it!

Cheers

Thank You Steve-Thank you very much-Now if he'll only listen

I got a pretty cool color scheme that I came up with. If I could change the console strip colors I'd be in heaven. That said, I have lots of problems finding the colors I want tot change and my X1 and 8.5 schemes will not work totally in X2. It messes with my clip colors but gets just about everything else right. Then I'm playing the guessing game trying to figure out what color changes what part. If they DO ever implement color options and customization, they definitely have to do a better job with how it gets handled as far as knowing what changes what in my opinion. That "restart Sonar for changes to take effect" is a real drag too. But I'm actually quite happy with what I came up with so far.

I'm lining up for the day when Adobe releases the next version of Photoshop, I will complain about the lack of sound support on the very first day...
