Around xmas I purchased the X1 Holiday pack (included Dimension Pro 1.5) and purchased the ProChannel comp, gate and limiter etc.  BAsically the same stuff as in X2. Other than X1 upgrading to X2, what else changed? Do I need to reinstall Dimension Pro 1.5 ( I already have 1.5)?  Did the prochannel comp, gate and limiter also change in the last 8 months?

I'd skip the DimPro reinstall and here is why http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2666564

Could someone name something in the dim pro expansion pack so I can make sure I installed it back with X1?

As Scook pointed out:

To clarify:

04_Dimension_Pro_1_5_Setup.exe
04_Dimension_Pro_1.5_Expansion_Packs.zip

These are the same installers as with X1. Dimension Pro did not get any updates this time around, so we did not re-write the installers.

If you already have it installed, there really is nothing gained by downloading and installing again. The Expansion Pack installer is not the DSF Symphonic Strings installer (that's a separate exclusive offer so it was left out of the instructions). The Expansion Packs installer linked above is ultimately a re-write of this http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/reader.aspx/2007013208 plus some additional content on top of that. It's the same installer as the one included with X1.

So I guess ultimately, if you upgraded from X1 to X2 and already have Dimension Pro installed, there's nothing to gain by downloading/installing it again. If you upgrade from SONAR 8/8.5 to SONAR X2 on the other hand, then the installers linked above are the latest version with the content repackaged as .flac etc.

gswitz: the dinPro expansion packs reside in their own directory trees in the program browser separate from the standard install.

I have 25 categories in the program browser of dim pro + the digital sound factory strings. That means that I did install the Expansion Pack last time, right?

Duh... ok

Not sure exactly where to look the expansion pack stuff. I'm starting to enjoy the Dim Pro... just kinda slow on the uptake. If you could point me, I'll verify I installed it. I might have skipped it, being me.

no, you should also see 3 additional categories called "Expansion Pack 1", "Expansion Pack 2" and "Expansion Pack 3" in the program browser. They are not integrated in the numbered categories.

Strangely, Windows 8 saved the install packages without the .exe on the end b/c the publisher was unverified ... ? At least I think that's what happened. Anyway, I added the .exe and was able to run the 01_Read_This_First.

Scook, thanks for the Dim Pro info.
Awesome! Thanks scook. I'll grab that too then! Man, and I was all excited with Dim Pro before haha... imagine me now!!

The exe issue was reported very early today by those use IE, although I imagine they were running Win7. The best way to d/l this stuff is with with a download manager like FDM.
