So Andrew let me understand you on this. You ensure the sale of a new product by enticing us to buy a product that is being discontinued anyway under the guise that we get the X2 uprgrade free and then we have to wait til "Later in the month" to receive the upgrade because we did not participate in the pre-sale. Didn't we participate in the Pre-pre-sale???

Geno - If you buy a new car with terms at the time of purchase that say "no down payment for 30 days", and your neighbor bought a car a week earlier from the same dealership when the terms were "free trip to vegas", would you expect to get both the trip to vegas and the no down payment for 30 days - these aren't cumulative. Everything depends on the deal you signed on for at the time of purchase. In your other post where you pasted in the terms it said you would be able to download X2 before the end of September. If October 1 rolls around and you haven't got your link, I would say it's time to launch a tirade.
I know how frustrating this can be honestly, and Cake needs to do a better job of communicating their many deals and their terms - but sometimes it seems they just can't win. Somebody is always going to be p^&&*d at them no matter what. 
My guess is (based on some of their discussions during the presale) that they are going to start providing the general links in a day or so - so what's the big deal?

If you purchased "X2" directly from the Cakewalk Store as part of the Pre-Sale promotion, then you should already have your serial numbers & downloads.


If you purchased "X1" prior to the Pre-Sale as part of the "Buy X1 get X2 Free" promotion your downloads will be available at a later time. If you purchased X1 through a retailer or the Cakewalk store starting August 1st, and registered, you'll be eligible for the free upgrade to X2 as well. The process for these folks will be that they "purchase" X2 for free through the online store.

Ok, I bought an X1 Producer upgrade (came from 7.0 Producer) from Sweetwater earlier this month and registered it 9/12 so I guess I fall into the category of having to "purchase" X2 for free through the online store when available. I'm guessing I'll receive an email with instructions once it's ready? 

Or am I in the "Buy X1 get X2 Free" group? It's a bit confusing.

If you registered, you'll get an email with instructions on how to get the free SONAR X2 download. You definitely qualify.

I understand. I would be anxious too but we do need to fulfill these like we do a store purchase. Except you won't have to pay.

I can't wait to get home now. Leaving work in fifteen minutes and then it's a forty five minute battle down a few motorways and then it's time to download me some cake

DL now... do we have to reinstall Dim Pro and the packs? or if we have it from X1 is it good to go?

and I hope people let us know of the install cause I'm not doing it until I see it's going good for most folks...I'm sure it will tho.
