Why are the Z3TA+ 2.1 and PC4K S-Type Expander Gate not asking for my registration code when I open them?

SONAR does not officially support the corresponding match, and sometimes need time to catch the last official code Cakewalk. If you do not confuse users, our development team and our support channels.

what is a mod?
One of the Beatles?

The Small Faces, The Kinks and The Who were Mods. The Beatles, in John's words, were Mockers

Actually it was Ringo who says it in A Hard Day's Night... In the scene with the press party and he's asked if he's a Mod or a Rocker and he replies... "I'm a Rocker"....

I'm fairly certain it was Ringo....

Sorry for pulling this thread slightly OT... I couldn't help myself...

...but back to the topic.

Yes, It's a big point in their (The Bakers) favor that they accept this with grace... and the creators of these mods for making them so easy to insert/remove so that we can use them without losing our connection to Cakewalk...

But it also shows just how many people strongly feel a need for these things which we once had... So it also tells us the Cakewalk is not unsympathetic to our needs, but were unable to give us these things at this time (themselves).

My Kudos to all for their' hard work making a software I depend on all day every day... Tho I'm easily moved back to 8.5.3 as it's more to my liking in many ways, X1 does have more things I like to use.... and some of the commands that have been added make my life a little easier. After a bunch of adjusting settings (Cakewalk) and Mods and the fixes that have come along so that X1 is very solid, I am finding myself using it all the time now... Still grumbling about a few issues (I won't drag us there), but working reasonably, solid and comfortable...

Thanks All!

Keni

   Yes!    I agree this !
They know that a lot of us are using the mods but there is no attempt to actively discourage their use or to intimate that their use somehow negates our rights to contact Technical Support - they even allow the mod thread to remain here in their forum.     Of course, what Brandon says makes sense, but how cool to do it while acknowledging the use of these mods in a completely affable manner.     There must be a few software vendors around where this definitely wouldn't be the case.

Please disable any Mods you have running before reporting problems with X1d or X1 Expanded - both on the forum and on the Problem Reporter.

SONAR does not officially support mods and sometimes mods need some time to catch up to the latest official code from Cakewalk. Failing to do so confuses users, our development team, and our support channels.

If you are experiencing a problem, and are running a mod, please disable it and verify that it is not a Mod causing the problem. Since the release of X1c it is verified that some customer problems are due to incompatibility between mods and X1c.

Thank you.

I know this is an old thread and I dont use any mods and stuff like that anyway. I would seriously NOT like to include unintegrated and untested things like that and mess with the basic official CW program. (no offense intended to any mod developers who are just doing what they can)

So, may I ask ? Why are we even considering the use of mods at all in Sonar ? Why do we want mods to catch up with the official Cakewalk codes ?
If mods can be made, why cant Cakewalk provide the same features within Sonar ? Obviously people are using mods because they want those features. Like say, I too want full colors customization in the official Sonar X1. Why cant a patch be officially made and sent by CW for this so that this is sorted out once and for all ?

Some reply would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
