Honestly Fedex/UPS/USPS are all equally good here.  The only thing I don't like about USPS is that I use a PO Box instead of home delivery, so they don't bring stuff to me.  I have to go to town to pick up stuff shipped USPS.

Used to be UPS would gorilla your packages and fed ex was kid gloves, but ups got their stuff together, my problem is the fed ex home delivery which is contract and very independent

I am lucky i purchased a PO box here at the university so I can go rite to the building and pick up

USPS has gotten really good with time frames and windows

Looks nice matey!!

Now, I'll also be reluctant to use FedEx......I agree with Bob on USPS being actually much more reliable......but, UPS will get it to you no matter what.

My own experience here locally has been that Fed Ex is far more reliable than UPS.

I have a gate across my driveway. If I don't leave it open on the day I'm expecting a delivery, the Fed Ex guy gets out of the truck and opens it. And closes it on his way out. The UPS drivers, on the other hand will either leave a "sorry we missed you" sticker or toss the package over the gate.

I found a $1k microphone I'd ordered, lying on the ground, in the rain where it had been sitting all day. It had been tossed over the fence. Thanks, UPS. Fortunately, it was well-packaged and unharmed.

Another time I had waited all day for a highly-anticipated delivery. I heard the truck pull in, but before I could get out the door he'd already turned around to leave. I literally chased him down the driveway, but he either didn't look back or was ignoring me on purpose. I ended up having to pick up my new Hammond at the UPS office.

I used to have a dog. A large Akita, he could be quite intimidating. The UPS drivers wouldn't go near him. But one day the Fed Ex guy pulled in, prepared with doggie treats in his pocket. When I arrived, the dog was sitting in the driver's seat, hoping to go for a ride. The driver, unfazed, had me sign and then gently coaxed the beast out of the truck with soft language and another treat.

I have received computer equipment that looked like it had been dropped from a great height. Think about how much force it takes to crumple a computer case. That's not an accident, that's some disgruntled UPS employee who's pissed off that other people are getting stuff and he isn't.

I ordered a tube amp that was back ordered beyond the expected return time of a trip we were making.  The day before we left, I got a notice that it had shipped.  I left a note with a big honkin, heavy plastic bag and instructions on where to place the bagged box.  The UPS dude handled it exactly the way I asked.

Our Fedexers are independent in this area, but every one is a class act.

The latest Fedex scam is an extra $2.50 charge if you want to sign for something. At least that's an option at Sweetwater.

Let's face it, there are horror stories and 'happy' stories from both companies.
