But for the 90% of us who don't have broadband ... we are punished by not being able to cash in on the deal at all even if we wanted to ... or we get slammed an extra $30 bucks to get the DVD's ... and still can't get the strings.
far less than that now , 90% is a big exaggeration. I'd say it's 10-20% perhaps that are still on dial up or slow DSL / broadband.. even when I was in rural Ireland recently they had a decent enough connection.. they had errm sent over beacons , either sat or radio. forget which. more expensive , but that way they don't have to put down the cable.
I can understand in Oz and NZ that it's capped due to having to travel so far, but still
most uni's have had very fast connections for years, (JANET in the UK) .. so if you know someone going to a uni, get them to get it for you :)
