id do a gain env instead of volume. and after doing that youll have to adjust your compressor again. 

if theres something i need to fix a lot of peaks in, i open it in sound forge.

Whoa... I just did the compressor/saturation trick on the third track and now it totally pops out of the mix. This is great. I think I'm almost done here. Just gotta mess with the guitars and "master it".

Thanks, scook. I didn't know you could do that. I'm kind of curious now about sending my rhythm guitars to two separate busses so I can pan them out of the center. Is it possible to send tracks out to multiple busses? I'll be taking a closer look at it later but I don't want to start plotting and scheming if isn't gonna happen.

@bub... I think I might be able to use what I've got now. I have now idea why that third track made everything work so much better but it did. Crazy.

use sends. you can have as many as you want. set the track output to none.

Holy shlamoli! I just tossed the PC4K on the bus, did a light eq and it now sounds MONSTROUS! This is freaking awesome!
