  How about "Stereo" 12 string guitar produced via a M/S process using Channel Tools as a VST insert before the PC stuff in the Inspector Tab's FX bin?

I'd really like what Craig has to say about EQ, Compression, Saturation etc rather than stereo imaging.

I've just recorded a piece using a pair of ribbons set up as a Blumlein Pair and the imaging I get from this is stellar.

I'm not sure Channel Tools would provide the ability to compress the mids separately to the sides - Voxengo's MSED might work in this situation

Craig in your effort would it be possible to give sound files as you did with the You Tube "reverb examples"? This is what I find lacking in most of these types of discussions. 

Help me out here.  people are talking about not needing the fx bins.  Is that because you can load vst's in PC?  If so how?  When?

With X2 that's a new feature. You'll be able to load VSTs into the ProChannel.

will you be able to control prochannel like you can a VST?  I use automap with novation controllers and wouldnt give that up for anything.
