Evening all!!

As per a different thread, recently made the change from Cubase to Sonar.

What I'm after is some free tutorial videos for Sonar, starting from literally the basic s of recording audio. I see this website has some, but has anyone used these or are there any third party videos out there with are better?

Thanks in advance! :)

I highly recommend picking up the Sonar Video Pack while it's on sale... http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cus/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=30-G3CB1.00-20E

Lot's of good stuff for $70...and most of it will also apply to X2...

There are also a lot of good Sonar X1 Video Tutorials on BoobTube..I mean YouTube...

Cheers!

Groove 3 has some awesome Sonar videos. Cakewalk and Fast Biker Boy's youtube videos are free and pretty awesome. The Sonar X1 Advanced Workshop videos are great but most useful once you get a handle on basic tasks in Sonar. Lots of help here, when you get stuck. Good Luck!!!

you might find yourself better off getting the groove 3 vid's direct from there or if you use a lot of the products their did videos for , buying a years pass :)

not free, but worth it..

DAW's generally have similarities (I use both cubase as well as sonar, also reason) each has things I like / dislike.. but it's more a case of figuring out how you did what you did before in cubase.

if you know cubase well you can set the same shortcut keys. e.g. the number pad doing various things with transport / recording.. that even goes back to ST days :) .. thats under prefences / keys and import the file , and it'll list other brands / with the keys for them things.

I see Rocky has already mentioned my youtube page (thanks Rocky). There's several on X1 on there. See the link in my sig.

I've sold my soul to the devil for X2 though but it has allowed me to justify spending a lot more time on them than I otherwise could have. There's an example of one of those on there as well. Insanely detailed was one description which was meant as compliment I think.

I'm sure there'll be freebie X2 videos appearing on various subjects as well at some point.

Thanks for the info people! I did look at the Groove 3 videos but as I get the free upgrade to X2, didn't want to shell out money if they weren't relevant to X2. Saw somewhere about a 30 day pass so will trial them out and buy them if I find them useful.

Definitely will check out FBB on YouTube, although blocked in work so will be my evening viewing!!

Cheers for the info Fog. On Cubase I struggled at first, similar to Sonar. But once I figure out the basics, I'm usually OK in finding all the rest of the bits and bobs out, it's just getting over the first hurdle that I usually struggle with.
