I am curious as to how the solo function affects the CPU draw. when you solo a channel and mute the remaining tracks does this lower demands on you cpu are the muted channels now out of the loop for producing any demands on the processor and memory? Also is their a way to create a group were we can do an exclusive solo and it not have any effect on some tracks while working to solo and mute the tracks in a group so that I can have drums and bass going and exclusively solo various guitar tracks over the drums and bass.

Not as I understand it. The only way to lower resource requirements from a track is to archive it.

Yes - use solo override on the buss(es)  that you always want to hear. That is activated by shift clicking on the buss's solo button.

FBB - you're right about resources. Tracks are always enabled so they can react instantly to solos and mutes.
