It would be fantastic when using the console view with all strips narrowed if the currently selected strip would auto-widen and then narrow again once un-selected. If this is already possible then I can't find the feature. I realize that you can set up a key binding (I use alt+< or alt+>) to widen/narrow all strips and busses at once. That's not what I'm after. 

Does it already exist? Any work-arounds? Thanks.

Here is the real life example; You're mixing a project with 12+ tracks and you've narrowed all tracks and buses in the Console View.  You want to see and/or use the ProChannel, tweak the automation settings, phase, stereo or send pan settings for the selected track, keeping the rest of them narrowed. 

What to do? 

Well I think its a neat idea. I wouldn't want it to the only way but as an option I could go for it.

Use the inspector where the selected strip is in wide view even if the console is setup as narrow. Works best for me that way.

Thanks for the suggestion but when mixing I like to work from the Console View rather than the Inspector.  

That's what I do. I have the console open if there are too many tracks I use narrow view for the console window but leave the Inspector floating so that I can examine more detail by selecting a specific track/channel which the becomes visible in the Inspector at greater detail. 

I've set up various screensets so I can work on different sections (eg drums/guitars etc) and this allows me to view all console strips in wide mode (unless I've gone mad with my drum tracks!)

Good idea! I've used this for widened track-view real estate, but not in console view. Like it.
