I think you sing just fine.  It actually lends more earth to the traditional tune.  Also, you are a fantastic guitar player.  I like what you did to it.  I like people who try to step out of the box.  Great tones on that guitar.

Getting there and such an improvement, love it all but the 'In that bright land to which I go ' still need a redo 'cause you just didn't get there (flat).
And you sound great ...this song would be a good album filler .. so thanks for 'jumping in'
All the best

I think it's a really well-put together song, and great guitar work, of course.

The shift in pattern and texture in the second verse caught me a bit off guard. I liked the change as an idea, but I think the transition should be either a bit more gradual, or placed differently.

Such resonance in your voice. While you'd do well to edit out some more of the mic sounds between lines, I'd be practicing the heck out of singing if you reckon you can't sing. Because, geez...that's a vocal tone that you can work with. You have the pipes...

Thanks everyone for listening, your input, and most of all, your encouragement. I can only sing extremely simple songs, and even though this one isn't hard, I had difficulty staying on key for some reason. I seem to do a lot better when I play it on acoustic, but my main one is in the shop, so I thought I'd try it on electric. Well, anyway, I'm on a quest to try to find some songs I can sing solo live because I think people get bored just watching me play instrumentals all night and it would likely broaden my audience. I think I'll probably leave this one off the list, but I hope I can find a friend who will want to use the arrangement.

I thought "Summertime" too when I first heard it.  Excellent guitar work and your rough vocal delivery adds to the dismal mood of the overall tune.

I like the idea of the tempo changes but find the tempo changes are a little abrupt.
