Well, I wish I had better news for you guys. If the address that Scott Lee posted (260 W72nd st) is of the Billy Arnell in question, he passed away 4 weeks ago. There was no doorman but I spoke to the super through the intercom. From where did this address come from?

According to the links below, the man named Billy Arnell at that address was in his early 63 years old.  However, the phone number seems to match what Scott provided.  His CEL phone is a 212-362-xxxx

the 2nd link provides an email address w- breakout.com being the domain which appears to be a taxi service...seems unlikely Billy would have that email address

Hi everyone,

This is what I know. I worked for Capital records for a bit, of which billy and I spoke briefly about. Billy owned, ran or had some affiliation with a record company that delt with capital as well as other record companies at some point in time.

The address I supplied wasn't one billy gave me directly, but was the address I found for a Billy Arnell living in NYC.  Im not 100% sure that was his address, though was the only Billy Arnell I found.

The thing about Billy is even if he would drop off, he always made sure to get right back to me or as some posted, would email them back promptly. Thats the big concern of mine. I am also reserving thinking the worst until someone can do a positive ID.

Hoping for the best for Billy! Please still be with us.

The band Riot - produced by the man named Billy Arnell who worked w/ Loeb - had at least one record on Capitol.

EDIT - I hope this doesn't come across like I'm prying. Billy's absence just really affect me, like I think it does many of us. I'm always hoping that I'll hit some information that'll prove me that we have the wrong guy.

This doesn't look good. However, like others here, I struggle to think that Billy has passed away until we get some confirmation. On the other hand, I find it weird that he hasn't picked up on this thread, either from visiting the forums (even just to lurk) or the PM's and e-mails sent to him.

I would love to see him chime in here, saying "Hello" and calm us all. But I'm starting to think that it will never happen...

I will keep an eye on this thread in case something new pops up.

Here's to you Billy - Cheers!

I hate to make this any more complicated than it already is, but there is a YouTube video of an old track by one Billy Arnell (of Billy Arnell and the Sparkles), which features a comment from someone, posted 4 weeks ago, which says "RIP Billy we miss you." The super I spoke to said that the Billy Arnell at 260 W72nd st died 4 weeks ago too. I'm really confused as to whether or not there are two Billy Arnells, both seemingly in the music business. Or perhaps this YouTube commenter  knew of the BA-Midi Billy Arnell, heard of his death, and did a search on YouTube and mistakenly thought that Billy was the same one? Or maybe that really IS BA-Midi singing on the Tough Girl track?

I hate to add this, but...   I think one of Billy's side projects, or perhaps his "day job" if you will, was some type of database software related to a taxi service.  I don't recall the details, but I do recall thinking it was an odd juxtposition to his music.  So based on the information above, it's certainly not looking good from here.

More worringly is the similarity in website design between the breakout.com website and Billy's.

Same colour, similar layout, same font. While it hardly proves anything as an observation it doesn't help me stop thinking the worst.

Yeah, I noticed that video and comment when I was searching around frantically last week.  I just sent a message to the person who wrote it, with a link to this thread and to Billy's website, so hopefully we'll learn something soon.

Yea and listen to the music in the video on Breakout.Com.  Sure does sound like Billy's stuff.  Have to say... that has to be him.
