Rip Ba-midi. Is there a better way to be remembered than, "he helped people". I think not.

It always hurts to lose one of our own.
To Billy's family, my heartfelt condolences, but at the same time, be proud.
He made a difference.

So long, Billy.

Ah, man, awful news. Thanks to Mario and Cryophonic in particular. What a shame. Sounds like he was well-loved in the real world as well as here, though, and got a good send off. Looked so young, too, always hard to wrap your head around someone who looks like that passing on, doesn't seem right.

I had a feeling this was the case but it's still dfficult to now know it's true...

I listened to the first 31 songs on his website earlier at work today and plan to continue tomorrow.   That's my way of paying tribute, not to mention simply listening to some good quality music.

As his signature used to say: Dance to the music of life!  RIP, buddy.

RIP BA-Midi, thank you for the music.

I'm listening to his vocal tracks now.

Sad day. Sad thread. The X2 release will not be the same without ba_midi around. :)

Bit, I enjoyed your story. Generous man, indeed. I mean that's going above and beyond to reach out to somebody you know maybe just a little bit, a distant electronic pen pal of sorts. Says alot about the type of person he was.

About his site... sure would be nice to not have it just disappear into nothingness, assuming it may be just an overlooked artifact of somebody's life. It looks like ba-midi.com is registered via tucows.com through Jan 2013, and tracert on his IP goes through yourhostingaccount.com, which is also registered to tucows... So maybe the hosting bill was payed through the end of the year along with the registration.

The pages will always be there at archive.org, in fact you can go right back and see what it was like in 2003, he had some different pictures of himself up there.  He also had some different text up on his music page:

I believe strongly in our human spirit. When you listen to the tracks, like "Find Your Spirit" for example, think the words

"Spirit, Find Your Spirit" as you hear the melodies float through your mind.

I'm gonna be doing some more - for fun (since I'm not in the music biz anymore,

I only have about 4 hours here and there to play around with this).

I intend to do a variety of styles/feelings (though I love doing dance grooves). So I hope you'll come back and listen.

Enjoy, and free your spirit!

Hugs

Billy :)

when I first came to the forum I had a Sonar problem and not only did Billy help me on the spot he PM'd a few days later to see how I was doing.

RIP Billy.
