Drum Maps will allow you to send different midi note values to different outputs - that might work for you.

Or the CAL script "split notes to tracks" will put each note value on a seperate midi track

In the Piano Roll View (PRV) it`s pretty easy to select a range. For example, if you click on the note C3 on the keyboard to the left and hold the mouse as you drag to C4 it will select that range of notes. From there it`s easy to cut and paste.  In PRV you have the benefit that if you zoom out horizontally you can see the notes simultaneously making it easier to choose the closest range, for example selecting approximately the lower third, mid third or higher third of all the notes. Select>By Filter will also do the same job but you have to choose and type in value ranges. HTH 

Let me guess - you tracked a 3 or 4 part harmony and you want to split the voices between 3 or 4 French Horns, right? :)

The quickest way I found to do it is this. Say you have 4 French Horns or whatever...
Copy/paste from FH1 to FH2, 3 and 4. (I find it easier and quicker using shift-ctrl click&dragging the clip from FH1 to 2, 3, and 4.)

Select the 4 of them. Hit Alt-3 to open PRV so you have all 4 tracks in it.

In PRV...

Lock FR2, 3 and 4.

Delete unwanted voices from FH1. Lock FH1.
Unlock FH2. Delete unwanted voices in FH2. Lock FH2.
Unlock FH3.... etc...

In my opinion, this isn't a viable solution here because it will make a track for each note. Split notes to tracks works great for drums because of this. I think Sam and Stoons have a good solution. Just my $.02.

The "Split Poly" plugin available at http://www.midi-plugins.de/ is able to do what you need.

Do you know where I can find more information on "Split Notes To Tracks". I have a similar need to Aicon. Currently I have been using both Cakewalk Sonar and Reaper. Reaper allows me to record the midi output of my Roland Electronic drum kit into one track, and then split all of the midi channels (e.g. snare, kick, toms, etc.) into seperate midi tracks. This then allows me to solo each midi drum track, sending the midi data to a sound module, and subsequently record an audio track of that midi channel content. It works great, and is a far better and easier way of recording the drum kit out than muting each drum in the kit EXCEPT for one, and then doing this over and over until all of the drum kit parts have been turned into audio. So..., yes, Reaper makes this easy, and it is one of the reasons I have been using Reaper a lot lately. But I have invested quite a bit of $$$ into Sonar X1 and now X2, and I want to get the benefit of that investment, so I need to find a way to split out the midi. Does the CAL script that has been mentioned exist within Sonar X1 /X2 already, and if so, how to I access it. Further, does anyone know where I can get some information on this. Thanks. Mark Roberts

Hijole K., the CAL program "Split Channel to Tracks" does what you describe, I believe. The notes from one track are split to new individual tracks based on their channel number, which your drum kit provides.
