Do you know where I can find more information on "Split Notes To Tracks". I have a similar need to Aicon. Currently I have been using both Cakewalk Sonar and Reaper. Reaper allows me to record the midi output of my Roland Electronic drum kit into one track, and then split all of the midi channels (e.g. snare, kick, toms, etc.) into seperate midi tracks. This then allows me to solo each midi drum track, sending the midi data to a sound module, and subsequently record an audio track of that midi channel content. It works great, and is a far better and easier way of recording the drum kit out than muting each drum in the kit EXCEPT for one, and then doing this over and over until all of the drum kit parts have been turned into audio. So..., yes, Reaper makes this easy, and it is one of the reasons I have been using Reaper a lot lately. But I have invested quite a bit of $$$ into Sonar X1 and now X2, and I want to get the benefit of that investment, so I need to find a way to split out the midi. Does the CAL script that has been mentioned exist within Sonar X1 /X2 already, and if so, how to I access it. Further, does anyone know where I can get some information on this. Thanks. Mark Roberts
To access CAL scripts, select the clip or clips you want to work with. Hit Ctrl-F1 and a window pops up asking you to locate the CAL script you want to use.
There is one script which is called something like "Split Notes to Track". It will put all your Cs (kicks) in one track, Ds (snare) into another, Es... etc...
That script is good for splitting drums, but not for what the OP wants.
