I tried to listen, but it was like watching a brutal murder :-( Brian needs to get someone to sing this for him. Your parts sounded good.

LOL

Wanna sing this one for him? 😀

I like the mix! I agree with what others have said that the vocals are pitchy but hey ,it has a style to it too. I thought the guitar was a little muddy also but I play country , I like twang so take that with a grain of salt.

Thank you very much, Mr. Twang! 😄

Ha, that's not where I was going. My point is/was, it's a nice song? It has it's good points (and the biggest is you) but the vox detract so much that I really could not enjoy the overall presentation :-(

I can play the fiddle? But you don't want to hear me trying to do it... I like the mandolin? Those frets are there for a damn reason. People who have not played a fretless instrument will never appreciate your talent as do I. Now I play the fretless bass? And I think I'm "OK" at it? But that's a long scale fretless instrument... And it's a hell of a lot easier to play the fretless bass than a violin. Still takes some practice? But it's a whole nuther world. (probably my favorite thing to play though? the fretless bass :-)

Cool, Robby. I have a fretless bass too.

I'll bet you do stringjamer? I'll bet you do... I'm pretty talented? And I used to tell people, "I'm the most talented person you know?" But then there's you? You bastard... I just hope they don't know you? But of course :-) I mean that in a complimentary way ;-) YOU BASTARD!

If you could sing I would f'ing kill myself tonight. Please don't post one with you singing like Pavoriti? I already have the gun metal flavored mouth wash? So When you put the barrel in? It's somewhat familiar...

LMAO
Funny you should mention that. I was about to finish up and post a new song with me singing lead vocal, but now I've decided to hold off and spare your life.

Hi Scotty,

I think this is my first time hearing this song ,

when the song starts hitting on all cylinders I really like whats going on
Love all the textures and parts you play through out as the song and as the arrangement goes more Forte ...
very thought full playing and musical parts you came up with ….
when its your time to do your thing instrumentally I like what you did a lot …very masterful playing

I do get the impression that you guys have an ongoing partnership / musical working relationship ...
theres always a lot of give and take in those type of working relationships ,
it might be a good thing if he gave you another take on some of the vocals …1 st half of the song

take these for what it's worth ……..
I almost think that playing the D chord and the A chord 2 frets up capoed might of contributed to the singers pitchy ness..
I feel the capoed acoustic guitar gets a lot of air time and in some ways it seems as if it is holding back the first part of the songs arrangement …..
you seem to have a lot of cool stuff musically going on while it's playing , and all that stuff seems to be tippy toeing around that part …….

a little mandolin melody in the opening bars of the song might sound nice….as an addition

having said all that , it is not my thing at all to be critical  â€¦.my music is vey quirky w lots of flaws …

you do have something here that is very good …it sounds very organic and natural
I respect that your using real instruments with real people ….thats one of the great things I like a lot about your music

Hi Kenny,
Thank you for your insight. I like the idea of the mandolin for the intro. We did an unplugged version of this song that has mandolin in it as the solo instrument. I have convinced Brian of letting one of our good friends sing this one for him.

Scotty, I kind of agree here.  The verse vocals, especially in the first half of the song, just aren't as smooth as my ears would like to hear.  The endings of the verse lines feel unsteady for me.  Example..."Take me baaaacckkkk..."  The flow on back is unsteady/ warbly (?), something not smooth there.  I almost feel "baaaaccckkk" should go up in pitch in those areas.

Instrumentation and mix sound pretty good to my ears.  Wonderful lead guitar work, especially like the tastefully done solo.

Like the song, good song.
