This has been happening for years and is likely some plugin etc.  Doesn't happen when I open in safe mode and say No to all plugs.  Fact is, at least for me , it doesn't and has never hurt nor corrupted any of my projects so i ignore it and chalk it up to "geez... computers these days".   
 

It may not specifically relate to crash on exit, but I find the free AppCrashView indispensable anytime an app crashes.  It points out the module that was involved in the crash.  Good for problem isolation!
