Whenever I open up this project in X1, I get the "Locate VST Plug-in" box appear.

"The following VST plug-in CLSID could not be matched with an entry in the VST plug-in List. Please identify the plug-in from the nearest matches listed below"

It then lists the name of the plug, and a drop down which seems to be giving me the choice of either the 32bit or 64bit version.

Plug-ins affected are:

Dimension Pro
True Pianos
TRackS3 Prog EQ 1A
TRackS3 Brickwall Limiter
Channel Tools

After selecting the correct plug, the same thing happens every time I open this project

And I've just confirmed it's not just this project - I selected one at random and same thing

It always seems to be when there's a 32 bit and 64 bit version of the plug.

Anyone seen this before?

Cheers, Jonesey

Did you run a VST scan? Take the option to rescan failed plug-ins.

I was told recently to toss any 32 bit plugs into a separate folder (separate from the 64 bit ones). I don't really know why but maybe this issue is related.

Preferences/VST Settings/VST Scan Folders

Maybe the appropriate VST scan folder path got deleted.
You should be able to manually locate the location of the missing VSTs then
add the path to the VST Scan Folders menu.

No, can't say I have. Although with the exception of 2, I don't use 32 bit plugins.

Yep, the first thing I did was to do a rescan of my vst's, which did nothing to solve the problem.

Can't wait for X2, I was considering doing a total reinstall of X1, but there's no point with X2 a couple of weeks away.

Thanks for your time gents.

Hmm, yes, it might Scott.

I think I'm going to live with it for now and see what happens when I've got X2 installed.

Another strange thing - this doesn't happen when I open the project up on another machine which is just running 32 bit Sonar.

I think it's got confused where all the plugs are supposed to be.

Sounds like it. My first thought was Registry error (still think so) but then one wonders how that would have occured out of the blue. If you're comfortable with it you may want to go in and have a look. Of course back it up first blah, blah and all that other good stuff.

Or let it go and live with it :-)
If you do try the program from the other thread let us know how things work out for future reference. I kinda wished you did just because I'm curious.

Exactly - one night there was no sign of this happening, the night after, I was on a "wtf" mission.

Absolutely. no. system. changes. whatsoever. between one night and the next.

This is also the only project I've been working on for a couple of weeks now, I laid down some new guitars and started editing the Midi drums, nothing else at all.
