I've got a guitar question that's so basic it's almost embarrassing.  It might be slightly OT, but maybe not.

You pluck an accoustic guitar and the note dies out.  But electric guitarists have a way of making notes sustain indefinitely.  I've heard several explanations: hold the guitar in front of the amp and the string self-oscillates, use some magnetic widget you hold above the strings that keeps the strings oscillating.

My question is this: is there some kind of component in TH2 that would mimic this effect?  It seems to me it might be a very cool thing to have in ones bag of tricks for occasional use in synth tracks.

My understanding is you get a lite version which has the amps but not the stomp boxes with X2
But you can get the full version for (another) $99
I bought it and am glad I did, even though I have GR5
I'm not a guitar player so I don't know what to grab to get what sound, the presets in TH2 are great for me

Not exactly accurate.  There are 2 Cakewalk versions:  TH2 SONAR (for X2 Essential & Studio) and TH2 Producer (for X2 Producer).

  • TH2 Producer has a selection of about 10 carefully chosen amps, 10 cabs (including the impulse loader), 10 effects modules, 3 mics.  Also a bunch of banks with basic presets.
  • TH2 SONAR doesn't have the 10 effects.  But is the same as Producer in all other ways.
  • TH2 Full has 60 tons of modules.  And 600 tons of amazing presets.

Expect a blog post or two that aim to dissect the Cakewalk versions pretty soon.

Thanks Bill. That certainly clears it up for me.

What I want to know for certain what is and what isn't going to be in the TH2 Producer version. IOW, what amps, and what rack fx, stomps and such.

I fell in love with the Comb Chrous in the demo version, but will that be in the TH@ Producer version?

This is the kind of info I've been asking for. Thanks. Now of course I'd like to know, which amps? which effects? which mics? Hahahaha!

Ok. The blog is about TH2 Sonar. TH2 Producer includes 10 effects. It looks like both have IR loading included.

I posted this on the other thread, but thought it might be useful here as well.
Every wondered what the pseudonymous names on these Amp sims represent?  Here is a site that helps translate the pseudonyms in these amp components for Overloud: http://www.audio-hardware-emus.com/th1_over.html.

Also links are given to Pseudonym Lists for NI, IKM, Waves, URS and Softube Amp sims.Notice in the right margin.  Don't know if the guy is guessing, but it helps a bit.
