I'm going retro on my next projects, so full VST1 and Windows 98 support please.

 #1

(cuz it will help achieve #2 and #4. #4 due to how it reduces cpu utilization for plugins not processing audio at a particular point in time.)

- nested track folders, please!
- bus folders! (n-deep, nest-able, of course)
- full color customization of absolutely everything. if certain UI elements must be image-based, perhaps an xml file to make them editable with a user-generated image replacement folder. not even full theme-ing, just the ability to tweak the existing artwork for getting our darker themes happening, would be huge. :-) if you do this, i'll make a dark colorized theme for us.
- an alternate mode / setting for the audio engine to force it to favor pre-buffering over low-latency (for those times when it comes in handy)
- a larger, more customizable area uptop, above the time rulers, for visually defining the song parts (intro, verse, chorus, etc.)
- more logic-like bezier curve tools for the automation lanes
- ability to have several instances of the console window open, with per-track settings, or smart rules for showing / hiding different types of channels (for those of us with several monitors) :-)
- allow VST windows to remember their width when they are narrower than the VST toolbar

A way better "spectrum analyzer"that could be part of the Pro Channel, something as sophisticated as BIAS Repli-Q,would be spectacular, that alone could make X2 "The Indusrty Standard"

Oh, I like this suggestion!   Especially if its part of the ProChannel......

I also like the suggestions about more options for adding color.

Voice in the wilderness here ... but what I most want is better tempo tools for those of us who do only in-the-box MIDI orchestrations.

As to VST3, I have yet to see a compelling reason to even care about it.

I vote for the same three I voted for before X2.

1. Full color customization
2. Nested folders
3. True drum kit piece solo within a multi-out audio folder when drum map is used
