i'm wondering about something. i installed X-1 last week however it did't come with a serial number so when i use it it's always the demo version which quits after a half hour, this is something i really don't use a lot but it makes playing bass on my tele cool. does anyone have a clue as to how long it takes to get the serial number? the customer service cats at cakewalk tell me to wait.

You should be able to get your serial at the cakewalk store, look at your store account and see if it is there.

I've got the same problem -- I contacted NI via email last week and was told to get the serial number from CW.   However, CW has not responded to any of my emails and my account still shows "no serial number" for GR4.
 
 

Cakewalk takes a while to respond to emails (if they respond at all). If you are in the US best bet is to call them at 1-888-CAKEWALK. They won't be open until tomorrow though.
