Apologies if this may have been covered in some way or form in another thread; I've searched in the Forum for quite some time and have not come across something similar.
I am running X1 Studio on a PC W7 64bit. I am not the youngest kid on the block anymore, either - so thanks for bearing with me.
Wondering if there is a 'simpler' way to load SMF and assign sounds than what I do: basically, I Open SMF (not Import); let's say a file consists of 6 MIDI tracks. I then insert one soft synth as 'Single Instrument track' and load the instrument I need; then I drag / move content of one of the 6 MIDI tracks onto the soft synth track. And so on. Eventually, I would have inserted 6 softsynths as Single Instrument Tracks, and dragged content of one of the six MIDI track to each of them respectively.
It works - but is rather time consuming. Does anyone recommend an easier / quicker way of doing this? Maybe via a multitimbral sound module (I have Kontakt & M5; I've seen some posts using TTS as 'multitimbral' sound module - but I don't have TTS, and the Sonar version was older than my X1)? In which case I would have no idea how to assign different MIDI tracks to different outputs within one multitimbral soft synth......
Any guidance/input/comment is much appreciated, thank you.
