I purchased the upgrade to the full version of Overloud's TH along with pre-ordering X2 but two things I'm confused about. 1 - They let you download it now but, should you be able to use it in an X1 project or are you only able to use it at this point in their stand alone program? 2 - Can anyone get acceptable latency out of it? In propellerhead's reason using the Line 6 module I can get under 10ms with live guitar. With the standalone TH I can barely get under 20ms which is easily audible.

OK, I figured out the latency. Needed to switch to ASIO. Still wondering about the other question though.

Try it. You should have it as a VST. Just be sure to scan for new plugins.

I'm going to get the boxed version of X2 along with the TH2 AND the free 24bit DSF Symphonic Strings HD Expansion Pack for Dimension Pro .

Can't wait!

I can use the demo version inside sonar. Copy the VST dll into Cakewalk's default vst folder. Then start cakewalk. If you still do not see it run a vst scan

switching to the ASIO drivers will lower your latency.

Yes, it's a VST so you can use it with SONAR X1.

Well There are two things about TH2 that I really like. The first thing is the quality of the amp models. I was happy just tweeking the amp models without any effects. The amp models themselves are well done. The effects did not really seem that much different in quality to the other programs out there IE Guitar rig, Pod farm ect,

The other thing I liked was the choice of virtual mics and how you can place them in relationship to the cabinets. I also liked the fact that you can use 1 or 2 mics to get your sound. the presets are ok but I like to hunt and find my own sound. But that is just my preference.

anybody else got an opinion on this?

Is TH2 for guitar only, or does it have effects/cabs for bass as well ?

I'd especially like to hear from Amplitube 3 users who have purchased the full TH2. Being deeply invested in Amplitube 3 and additional items from IK Multimedia's Custom Shop, I'd like to avoid buying the full TH2 unless it somehow trumps Amplitube 3.

Many of the amps in Amplitube 3 sound very real and respond to picking intensity like a real amp. I like it when Sonar offers new stuff, but there's no need to waste money on something that is redundant.

Any guitarists out there who have personally compared the two?

If you upgrade to X2 you should get a good idea if you want to purchase the full version. Otherwise, you could download the demo as see for yourself.
