Free camStudio works out of the box for me. No additional software needed.

Open Broadcaster Software is one of the most widely used by people who screen capture or stream themselves playing videogames. There are TONS of options for how the program works and captures what you're doing. Hands down one of the best options but also one of the most complex when you start digging through everything you can do with it. Also free.

Yes, I did notice that OBS seems to be a popular choice. I just wasn't sure if it plays nice with DAW's. In Windows, it seems, screen recorders do not capture the audio in DAW's if using ASIO drivers. But it looks like VB-Audio's Voicemeeter, as suggested by TheMaartian above, addresses this.

Thanks again.

I use Voicemeeter and Corel Video Studio's capture. I need Voicemeeter to get ASIO output. It's a bit tricky to get set up gut works well enough.

I used to use CamStudio but the last few times I DL's it, it had adware and/or malware in the exe (yeah - I did validate that it wasn't a false positive from my AVS). Too bad, I had used it for years.

I have used Hypercam.  It is now free (but somewhat dated):
