I have decided to ban myself from threads about new features in the forums. I can't take the inevitable whining, moaning, crying and complaining about EVERY NEW FEATURE. I'll read about them  in the e-zine.

I know, big deal.........but it's healthier...

its all good man, we are who we are. some are passionate about things and can control themselves while others are passionate and can NOT control themselves. I of course am not singling anyone out.
I've had my share of complaints here in the past but I have been very happy for the majority of the last few years.

I look back on some of my rants and I feel embarrassed. I wish I never said anything.
but we all make mistakes, and hopefully we learn from them. (like me with my spelling + grammar)
this place would be boring if there weren't a couple concerned users rocking the boat once in a while.
as producers, musicians, we are a passionate bunch.

I've been pondering this a bit, and I think I might do the same. Or at least, not bother arguing the positive case for a thing so much.

This doesn't apply to everyone, nor to every issue raised, but there are some people who seem incapable of imaging anything other than the worst possible version of everything, based on the worst possible intentions, and who are certain, that this time, the sky really is falling and Sonar is about to become one of these:

This thread should go to the coffee house, because it is going to quickly get out of hand.

First of all, everyone is entitled to an opinion, whether it is good or bad.

I happen to disagree with the attitudes of those that can't tolerate negative comments.  When I say "negative comments" I am not referring to disrespectful name calling or demeaning comments toward another individual.
I suppose that my attitude makes me intolerant of those that are intolerant of negativity.  See what I did there?

If it were not for "whiners" and those expressing negative opinions, then nothing would ever be improved.  For example:

[EDIT: Removed first 4 items in the interests of political neutrality. ]

  5. On a much smaller basis, Sonar would not have real-time Synth recording and AUX tracks if a number of passionate users had not continuously and passionately "whined" on this forum with negative comments about Sonar lacking this feature.

I take a tolerant view of negativity and frequently learn from it.  Often a user will post on the forum about something that I have not experienced.  This prompts me to try and reproduce the issue.  If I can determine that the user is using the software incorrectly, then I post a response on how to solve or workaround the problem.  If I can reproduce the issue, I report back to the user that their experience is reproducible and should create a Problem Report.  Often, I will create my own Problem Report.

Bottom line is that being intolerant of other peoples views and even their approach to expressing those views is just as bad as the person expressing their negative view.

I empathize totally... what you speak of seems rampant in our society these days...it is all over the place.  Just the other day I found myself getting extremely angry at the blathering negativity spewing about  the new analytics thread.  An announcement turned into a pissing contest with no real substance...  Responding to ignorant, disrespectful self righteous flaming is very hard to resist.

I often click on many threads out of curiosity and a desire to learn.  I try to avoid geting all wrapped up in a total whirlwind of garbage being spewed by those operating from a dual sense of "entitlement" and ignorance... it is sad.  It is hard to ignore. Most importantly, it really disrupts my desire to learn and understand.  I deal with this on the meta level all the time on climate, science, tech and geopolitical issues...people have gone totally insane and bring a bit of that here...

If it were not for "whiners" and those expressing negative opinions, then nothing would ever be improved.  For example:
  1.  The United States would not exist if the "whiners" in the colonies had not revolted and demanded independence from Britain.
  2.  Slavery would still exist in the U.S. if abolitionist "whiners" had not spoken up and gained the moral high ground.
  3.  Apartheid would still exist in South Africa if the majority of the western world did not "whine" about the social injustice.
  4.  Women would not have the right to vote in many countries if the suffragettes had not "whined" and marched for their rights.
  5. On a much smaller basis, Sonar would not have real-time Synth recording and AUX tracks if a number of passionate users had not continuously and passionately "whined" on this forum with negative comments about Sonar lacking this feature.

May be I am in minority, but I have no problem if first 4 are not there

After (1) they have made the half of the world own colony, partially applying (2).
About (3)... I know several people which has visited SA after that has happened...
(4). I am not a women and I have no right to vote in the country I am in
(5). I have participated in that discussion.  So I think this (and only this) make sense ;)

You need to get a sense of perspective. You are constantly on the attack and really one of the ONLY posters who consistently lends credence to the myth this forum is filled with rabid fanbois who will insult and attack anyone who doesn't blindly praise Cakewalk.

Even all the times you were "backing me up" I thought you were over the top. Then I point out some things that have been bugging me and all of a sudden I'm fodder for your hate.

Chill out and STOP INSULTING PEOPLE!!!
