Spur of the moment purchase...well not really. I'd been toying with the idea of buying a new camera for a while because I have a new website design in the wings that I need photos for, and given that I hate the idea of lugging heavy photographic gear around the Fujifilm X100T seemed like an ideal choice, a little extravagant yes but I bought it through the business so tax deductible, and I figure I can always sell it if it outlives its usefulness. Really nice little camera this, though. It feels how cameras are supposed to feel. I know there's supposed to be an updated model coming out later this year but what the hell, you can't live you life holding out for updates.

Sweet! After decades of using SLR's and DSLR's I'm craving something powerful but simple, with an old school feel. Your purchase is one that's on my short list. I can't figure out why cameras with that look and feel are so expensive compared to a DSLR.

This is only 16 megapixels too. Having said that, huge megapixel counts are overrated. The image quality in the X100T is stunning for a point and shoot. They say the best camera is the one you have on you, and I can carry this around in my bag. Small cameras are also much more fun for street photography - you don't feel so intrusive. Un-Kardashian people hate having big lenses shoved in their faces.

Apparently a pro-tip for working with RAW files from this camera btw is to slam the "detail" slider in Lightroom (if you're using Lightroom) up to 100%. Just putting that out there, lol - I pick up these details all over the place and remember them.

What camera did you use to take a picture of your camera?

It takes pictures of itself via the patented FujiFilm LightBend™ technology.

I've heard that's just smoke and mirrors. Especially the mirror part.
