Hi,
For years, I lived on a Canon AE-1. I'm now looking at a nice SLR/Digital camera ... so I can do some more rock music, if it comes around ... and the like. All in all, your camera will require a reasonable knowledge of F-Stops and Shutter Speeds, and if you have it, it will be just fine. I'm going to go away from the 35mm film altogether ... as the whole process is boring and difficult and there are not many labs that can do the film properly anymore ... Portland has 2 of them left, and one of them is slowing down because they have no students left.
I'm more than likely going to get me a video camera, since I am into film, and if you look at my pictures, I have a touch for the "moment", which comes from directing, and working with actors ... and while I like to have that on a regular camera, it is much more difficult to get if you don't know the numbers and where the setup is supposed to be ... but the only thing I needed to remember was 6ft, and then come up or down from there on the F-Stop and Shutter Speeds ... if need be ... specially with a flash.
