Hi all,
Interesting, I  had to actually go looking for 1709 update.....or as they call it 'upgrade'. Most of the time I  am able to update through system updates....you know check for updates etc.... I  kept getting the notice that I  was up to date as of 10/21.......  went to micro assistance for the update. Took awhile, but now I have 1709. Haven't  had chance to check Splat,......took awhile for download. Now I  read that we should go back in and remove previous versions of win 10....I ll look into this further, unless someone knows the real scoop.

1709 is an upgrade, not an update, and it will change you configuration settings.
Last upgrade on my main workstation (1706) changed the configured order of MIDI devices in Splat and I had to reroute everything to the correct ports and instruments. Grrr..

I also had a similar problem where Windows Media player no longer recognized all .mp3's depending on bit rates.
To correct that, all I had to do was to go into "Default App" settings, click on "Groove Music" which it most likely defaulted back to during the upgrade and choose Win Media Player from the drop down menu to choose it as the default player for music. Also scroll down and do this for default video player and Windows Media Player plays every format, even Quick Time .mov, .mp4, and DVD's.

Hope this fixes your problems, as it fixed mine.

I did try that but sadly no joy :-(

1709 build 16299.19 installed.

Only had to reregister Addictive products. Waves, iLok, interface  etc. all seem to be running pretty fine - no antivirus or other performance issues.

Upgrade reset my asio driver to maximum safe (~20ms).

Had hoped the scrub tool would work now but, alas, no, it froze and crashed as it has always done!

Never mind... can't have everything!

I upgraded to Windows 10 Home 1709 build 16299.19. I had to uninstall a Yamaha USB Audio driver which was preventing Sonar Professional from booting and then re-install it which cured the problem. I also had to re-authorize XLN Addictive. No re-authorization of any of the iLok licenses and that's about it. What I did noticed is that Windows 10 boots up much faster than before.

1709 installed.
Had to reactivate XLN AD2 again, seems to be required after every major Windows upgrade.
Be aware - Some hardware drivers may need to be updated after the upgrade. I had to reinstall Nvidia graphics card drivers on my desktop as Windows reverted to the default MS generic graphics settings and resolution.
On my laptop I had to reinstall the track pad drivers.

Other than that, Sonar seems to be running fine.

Back to Windows 10 Version 1703. Nothing but heartache with the 1709 Version. Seriously considering going right back to Win 7. Surely Cakewalk who make windows only DAWs must have some clout when it comes to major updates from Microsoft. TTS-1 which is a DX instrument refused to launch.

Pretty much my experience as well. Many disabled device drivers re-enabled themselves. Had to reactivate AD2, Audio interface settings reverted to a higher latency "safe" setting. Once set/corrected though, SONAR seems to be nice and snappy. No plugin problems so far. 1709 seems quick in general. I manually set a restore point before trying the early release of 10 in 1703, and after 3 days or so of playing with it, set a restore point ahead of trying 1709. All is good.
