Does anyone else remember the plethora of problems that happened with the X1 release? I'm just wondering if the pre order is really worth it, or if it would be smarter to wait for all the the initial bugs to be worked out?

It'd be smarter to get it now while they have the bonus going on and just not install it or install it side by side with X1 then wait to see what happens. That's what I'm probably gonna do. If it's too buggy I'll wait until they fix it to fully switch over. If it's good right out of the "box"... awesome.

Do what your gut says. I use Sonar X1 daily and i have not ran into any bugs when using it. Even when it was just released. to each ther own. What bugs are you seeing in X1? Just ask yourslef if you should do it or not do it.

A few days ago I bought X1 Producer - am I eligible for a free download of X2?

Should be.

I cant see it being as buggy as X1 was. When X1 was released there was no webinar before hand, at least we have seen X2 in action for the most part :-)

IMO X2 is what X1 should have been, cant wait to get my hands on it!

Yeah, I'll probably pick it up anyway. If it turns out to be super buggy, I've always got X1 to fall back on!

There was no webinar, but they did show video of it performing functions that didn't work upon release. Many posts about that IIRC. It made folks wonder how Cake could get a working version, but we couldn't ...

Anyone who claims they used X1 from initial release and never ran in to a single bug from day 1 is either FOS or only used it as a basic unlimited multichannel recorder and didn't use half of it's functions. There was lots broken in X1 when it was released, and there still is lots broken that will never be fixed now.

And I'd be willing to wager there's lots wrong with X2. There's been things wrong with every single release of Sonar going as far back as I remember, and most of the bugs never get fixed before they end it's life cycle.

They better have fixed the Pro Channel in X2 ...

That's my take on it.  I can at least learn all the new stuff with X1 as a safety net.

But as Rasure pointed out, there was a 90 minute live Webinar using X2 today, so chances are it will not be a repeat of the initial X1 release.

It is a very poor analogy to compare the release of X2 to that of X1.. X1 was a fundamental ground up makeover of the prior version... while X2 is an improved iteration... while undoubtedly there will be a patch before the end of the year i suspect X2 will be stable and usable from day 1.
