There is no wasted disc space.

If the take you just played is not used as a take,it is overwritten by the next take,or discarded if not used.

I usually rehearse a take before pressing record,even though I have the track armed.
I think it would be useful to have this as an option,no-one is saying it should replace the usual way each individual likes to work.

but knowing sonar's function of "clean audio files" where it searches the entire hard drive for 'orphaned' files - I'm not sure sonar's disk management capabilities wouldn't have to be completely re-worked before it could be implemented in that manner.
