Best - any guitar I have, followed by my little studio gear (which includes Pro 4 through Pro 9 and Sonar 2xl through Sonar 6PE)

Worst - A damn guitar strap that broke and sent a prized strat to the floor - scattering it all over the floor - followed by all the cables that have failed in my carrer. Thats a lotta cables.

Best Regards,

Lance

Ill have to add that my worst purchase lately was a FENDER guitar
strap, i let it all the way out, and it was so short my guitar fit
like a Bra accross my chest, the thing is too small for a kid much
less a man.

Fender what are you thinking making a strap so tiny?

#2 all time worst - CME UF-6 (total junk)

Talk about a timely post

Worst:
I just bought a VX7, thinking it would be a great all around controller.

Keybed doesn't feel anything like I had hoped (somewhere between a Roland Fantom and Yamaha MotifES would have been nice). But I could have lived with the spongey keys.
The thing smells like burning electronics... and it sends out boatloads of aftertouch messages auto-magically.
When it was working a bit better (earlier today), I discovered that the unit always output Aftertouch on MIDI channel 2... not matter how I had it setup. Talk about stubborn! LOL
Did I mention the power button sticks?
Manual? Uhh... Don't even bother to open it. Makes Yamaha manuals seem clear/consise and chock full of useful info.

The only good thing I can say about the VX7 is that it looks nice... and is a great concept.
The reality is this thing's a cheap POS.

The UF-6 looked good, but the drivers would mysteriously disappear after a few minutes. Fortunately, I never used it in a live gig (except the one where I destroyed it), and I replaced it with an Axiom 61, and I have been able to make it work ever since.

I purchased a CME UF8 and I really like it. But then again, I have it connected via midi in and outs, not USB. So I haven't played with the drivers at all. But I like the touch much much better than the M-Audio Pro 88 keyboard. I was mainly after a midi keyboard with 88 hammer weighted keys, aftertouch, pitch bend/modulation, good construction, and a few other controls and so far this has been a great purchase for me.

I will limit to a few things.

Best Purchases:

SM 57, AKG C 414 XL II, DM 3200, Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, Akoustik Piano, East West Orchestra Gold, Melodyne Plug-in. Sony's Noise Reduction 2.0 Plugs (a real lifesaver), Waves Plugs (except for the awful support).

Worst Purchases:

Samson S-Phone Headphone Amp (noisy and expensive for the quality of the unit). Finale 2004 (one day I'll convert to Sibelius).

Ill have to add that my worst purchase lately was a FENDER guitar
strap,

That's funny!!! I've done a similar thing... I like to wear my bass down almost touching the ground and I bought a cool SKULL strap online. Looked like it was long... WRONG. I could have slapped my low B string with my man-boobs.

Best:

1. Taylor 614
2. An old yamaha 12 string which had rusty strings and lived in a Fender case at a consignment shop. For $350.00 bucks with a an excellent adjustment, It's a long term keeper.
3. Any of the Cakewalk stuff

Worst:
1. Rogue bass amp - no volume, No tone and a buzzing speaker - For $100.00, definitely the "Stupid deal of the day"
