  • Was PSP VintageWarmer part of Sonar at one time?

Hey folks, I'm having a brain freeze.

I could have sworn that PSP Vintage Warmer was included in at least one version of Sonar Producer and some of the old posts I've found here seem to verify that. However, I've checked the setups in my disks back to SP3 and haven't seen it yet. I can't easily check Sonar XL 2 because the setup refuses to load unless you have Dx 8.1 installed!

I think I had it installed at one time but lost it as I upgraded from PC to PC. Maybe my memory is playing tricks though...

I also remember it was kind of good and therefore worth retrieving, but maybe that's not true anymore either! Let me know. I bought Voxengo Warmifier some time ago and I've been pretty happy with that.

Anyway, thanks to anyone for straightening me out!

I checked my store records and I bought the Vintage Warmer in 2007, and I seem to recall doing so because Cake had a very good sale price for it at the time. I've had Sonar Producer since v.4 and March 2007 would have been v.6 still so I'm pretty sure it hadn't been included in those 3 versions. Can't say if it was in an earlier version or not.

No, it was never included as part of sonar in any version. You can buy it seperate and run it in sonar.

CJ's right. Never included, though it's not impossible  that there's been a bargain for Cakewalk customers at some point in the past.  I don't remember such a thing though...

Actually, it was bundled with Sonar.

It was Sonar 2 or 3 (I don't remember which).  In fact, it's still listed in my store account as
"PSPaudioware VintageWarmer DX".  I have the CD somewhere around here.

It came as a DX plugin with SONAR 3 Producer.

I think there is some confusion. The VC 64 Vintage Channel was introduced in Sonar Pro 6. Vintage Warmer was never included in any version of Sonar. However, the VC 64 was modeled from the VW. One reason it is 32 bit only still. BTW in the VC 64 version it is still included in Sonar X1 Pro.

No confusion here... Maybe on your end...?

I remember it being bundled with an early version of Sonar... and the proof - as i have already mentioned - is that it is listed in my CW store account.  The date listed is 4/03/2003, which places it with either Sonar 2 or 3.

Not sure why you think we're confusing it with VC64
Vintage Channel -- which came much later!

I have every version of Sonar and it has never had Vintage Warmer bundled with them.

It very well could have been bought by you from CW. That does not mean it was ever included in Sonar. I also bought third plugins from CW.
