Hi,
Let's take a sample from the browser, a bass sample in "C", I would like to use that bass line
for the sound and style, but my song is in "G", the verse, for example is, "G", "C", "F," "E," is there a
way to change that bass line to the chords in my song ?

Thanks
John

If the samples can be made into Groove Clips. Add pitch markers to your project Time Ruler. You can also set the default from the menu Project > Set Default Groove Clip Pitch

I used to compose in Acid like that, roll out the loops then chop them up and a key command would raise or lower the selected clip by half steps, good if you don't move too far.

Should be able to do it in X1, haven't tried it yet myself.

Very convenient but I'm pretty sure that's just a Sony thing...I don't doubt X1 can do the same but not by just hitting + and - as in Acid or Vegas

Sonar will do it. It's just screwy. I mean you can raise and lower pitch, but finding out where to begin is numbing.
I've tried to figure it all out multiple times but just give up. I think the biggest problem is that Sonar doesn't "guess/read" the correct pitches. IE: Loop is in C, Sonar reads it as Ab. Acid does it pretty well. (at least it did when I used it years ago).

acid didnt have key detection.. its the loop that has the info.. sonar can read acid loops (ie ..intepret the key) and you simply transpose

In the process I'm talking about I don't think Sony pays any attention to what pitch the clip is (ie you can raise or lower spoken word using the same process) it just raises or lowers whatever's there by so many cents.
