That`s why i recommend a new projekt.
If you start a new one and import everything which is possible
(afaik  not- bounced and -freezed effects can not be imported)on the
right place you can recognize, if the new interface works, the migration is the reason aso..It would lead you 1 or 2 steps forward.
To  get the tracks in the exact position  in a  new projekt  folder I
cut my tracks as often as possible to the same starting point......and mirror them on another hd.
Yes, I know, it`s a lot of work, but so I´m nearly sure of not loosing too much work!

Yeah, I'm sure it is frustrating.

I believe there is a way to open a project minus plugins. Not sure how to do it but you could try that.

Just tried it. Still no luck.
It is not because it is being used by another program is it? When I disable the Saffire in the windows audio device settings does that mean it will not be used at all by other programs, or can other programs still use it?

If it´s  disabled  as a windows audio device it  cannot be used by
windows . Other Daws aso can use it!

Ok, thats what I thought. That can't be the problem then...

To be sure, it`s not disabled as an audio device, but as an windows audio device?
Sorry for that stupid question.

Yeah I tried it as a default device and default communications device, both won't work.

Then this direction seems to be a one way road.
To save the projekt and to migrate to a new song:
Is it possible that you use an onboard (Realtek or so) device with Asio for all driver
just to cut the tracks to the same start point and export it ?

In audio|devices, the inputs and outputs are Focusrite Saffire 6 ASIO drivers, and they are the only drivers there so they must be the correct ones.

No I mean in the project. Look at the main out and check what is listed there. This will be found in the CV.

Clearly you have it set up right as far as I can tell. However, if you haven't done this delete the aud ini file and let X1 find your interface on start up. It should be found in the user folder (that is your name and) under appdata/roaming/cakewalk. But it will depend on what OS you are using. I use Vista 64 bit. It should be the same for Win 7.

Open an old project and check it out at the main out.

Let me know if that helps.

Did you try these?

In Preferences-Audio Driver Settings, is the Saffire listed as the Playback Timing Master and the Record Timing Master?

In Preferences-Audio-Playback and Recording, Share Drivers With Other Programs should be checked. Also, Use MMCSS  should be checked

In Preferences-Configuration File, try clicking on Reset Config to Defaults. Maybe there's still some Emu stuff in there.  Then restart Sonar.

Also, on the old project, are you able to remove the Emu from the synth rack or from the tracks? Maybe its still trying to find the Emu.
