+3 on the free boxed version, everything(almost,if offered) I own is box, who wouldn't want the discs, just easier for me, and I hope it's highly considered!

I have Sonar X1 Studio. I'm somewhat put off by the bias in all the marketing towards Producer. I'd like to know what will be new in X2 for Studio users.

I'm not interested in upgrading to Producer. I have all the plugins I need, and I don't like the idea of the tight coupling of tracks to plugins via the ProChannel. I'm tired of seeing ads for all these plugins for ProChannel, btw.

More on the bias towards "Producer": The Cakewalk blog has a heading: "New features in SONAR X2 Producer include:"

Means nothing to me -- I use Studio.

The box isn't gonna cost that much extra. I'd rather get some kind of Cake store credit so I can buy something I personally want/need.

Wait... it's a Lite version of R-Mix? I haven't seen any mention of there even being a Lite version. If that is true what's the difference between the two? I'm REALLY interested in R-Mix for restoring old live recordings.

Where did you get this information?
I am so hyped for R-Mix. I need more information on how it works in sonar, despite the 2track-standalone. What is "light"? How does it work? Similar to vvocal? Or as plugin?

Please more info!

@Tabsel... I'm just referring to another comment in this thread. I don't think there is a lite version. Like I said I haven't seen one mentioned anywhere except here. As far as how it works within Sonar IDK but I'd imagine you could use it as a plug. Not sure how it would work on a mono track though. Maybe it would just send the signal to one side of the R-Mix stereo input. Cool looking tool IMO. I think I'll get a lot of mileage out of that one. I showed the demo to a buddy of mine and his reaction was the same as mine... "THAT IS BLEEPIN' COOL!!!"

The box versions are usually $29.99 extra and any break from that would be appreciated by me.

Sure but $30 isn't really a huge issue. I'm thinking more like some nice plugs or synths or expansion packs that would normally cost a lot more. Also Cake doesn't technically LOSE money giving those away whereas the production of a box/DVDs/documentation has a real value they have to pay out in cash. Seriously it would be nice if they wanted to give us a bonus for buying early to just give the early adopters a credit to the Cake store. That way everyone gets what they want. Even the box if they so choose. Also, and I've mentioned this before, I think it would be a great idea for them to have Cakewalk wishlists similar to Amazon. Then we could all buy each other birfday prezents. ;-)

Well a credit would be nice, but what I'm saying is I'd use such credit on the boxed version rather than a synth or drum samples, etc...I really like having the boxed versions rather than depend on a download, this becomes important if you have to de-frag or change your hard drive for some reason. Having a hard copy on hand is great.

I don't know what the difference is, but if you want to try that technology, Sony also has it. I got an email from them the other day about it and it said there is a 15 day demo you can download. Can't save or export, but at least you can try it and see how well it works for you before you get your hopes up. I hear it's a great tool, but there's a lot of artifacts depending on the material you use it on.
