PM from LunarSoundDesign finally got my attention...
Sorry, I've been up to my ears in code lately and haven't been following the forum.

LunarSoundDesign: It sounds like you're nearly there. Like others said, make sure you're in "Sonar Mode" and push the RESET button after
creating the "Mackie Control" or "Mackie Control Universal". It'll then exchange the required handshake messages with Sonar, and the connection will be established.
If not, reboot the device and try again.

Guitarpima: Didn't mean to leave you hanging... You asked for iPad screenshots of the iPhone app. The iPad just doubles every pixel so the screenshots would be identical to what you already have on your iPhone. Your comments on the other thread were noted of course. I do this alone and it's not easy juggling everything while trying to improve the software too. I will try harder though.
Hi Saitara, or anyone else for that matter

Could you explain to me what you meant when you mentioned "Sonar Mode" and also creating mackie control
I am using Sonar Producer 8.5.3 with xp and the AC-7 core mini on a ipod touch.
                                                                       thanks,Brian

On the "Trans" screen there is a button called "mode". Press that until it says "Sonar mode" in the top right underneath the 0s.

I just realized that I can zoom it on my Iphone. So, I'll be able to figure the buttons out. Not that I'll use them. I really only got it to use for transport and now I can make it easier to use with the zoom feature. DUH!!!

This is the future-now. I love my Transport but this looks cool.

Just an update. I installed MidiPads on the ipad which uses rtpMIDI and I am able to get it to successfully control battery inside sonar and standalone mode so I know that my ipad is communicating with the rtpMIDI.  I feel like the reset button does not work as stated, when I click it the sound is different than the other buttons and like I said, it never establishes a connection with sonar.

Hi,

I just installed both the AC7 Core on my iPad and the AC7 Core Mini on my iPhone.  Both of them connected but I did have a bit of a time getting the AC7 Core Mini to connect and it appears the reason was because I needed to restart the rtpMIDI service.  Once I did that, it found my device and then everything worked fine.

I did not have any issues with the AC7 Core though.  What I did was the following:

1) Installed the App on my iPad
2) Installed the rtpMIDI service
3) Selected and added the iPad device from within the rtpMIDI GUI
4) Enabled the PC running Sonar from within the rtpMIDI GUI
5) Started up Sonar and selected an existing project.  This project already had the V-Studio 700 setup as a control surface
6) Added the Mackie Control surface to the project and made sure both the Input and Output were set as the PC running Sonar
7) Applied the changes and exited from the project settings
8) Selected the Mackie control surface
9) Started the AC7 Core App on my iPad
10) Clicked on the mode button until Sonar Mode appeared right above where it says master volume
11) Clicked on the Reset button

After that I played some of the project, moved faders etc...  It even worked with my V-Studio 700 and controlled all the faders on the console.

I did everything you did but sonar hangs on "connecting".  Starting to get irritated.  I know it's not rtpMIDIs fault.  I've even turned off my windows firewall and opened the appropriate ports on my router as mentioned before.

Just out of interest, what version of the OS do you have?

I do not have the iPad 2.  Only the first version and the OS is version 4.2.1 (8C148).

I am wondering if it is an actual device issue or OS issue.

I'm using an iPad 2 v4.3.2.

Would be nice if the creator would be more responsive.  I've tried him via email, their forums and a PM here.  I know it's only $7 buck but you should support your product better.

There is now a plug-in for Reaper called Reaper_www that allows you to control its transport and some other things from any device with a web browser! Maybe Cakewalk could make something like this for SONAR then we'd not have to buy iPads and the like.

I've set up the Reaper plug-in and it works perfectly.
