Hi all.  First off I appreciate any help you guys can offer me, sincerely.  I've been struggling with this problem with 8.5.3 64 bit sonar since I started adding pluggins.

Here are the plugins I've installed:
ezdrummer 64 bit
t-racks 3(just installed this)     64 bit
prominy sr5 64 bit.

All of these plugins are supposed to be 64 bit....but when I look at them in the plugin window the only have single ticks which tells me they are in 32 bit mode correct?

For example:

stereo 32 bit ticks would look like:
'            '
stereo 64 bit ticks are like:
"           "

also guitar rig 3 that came with sonar has ticks like this:
'               '  ......and it says in the program it's supposed to be 64 bit too:(

I'm trying to figure out what is going on, if that is correct then only the plugins that came in cakewalk are coming in 64 bit.....

I've added all the locations of the vst folders(some duplicate names show up in my plugins but they both show up as 32 bit.

Any advice would be appreciated so much, help me out please.  If they are all in 32 bit, what am I missing performance/sound wise.

Thanks sincerely,
John

open up you plugin manager and see where those particular vsti's are located.  if they're located in the program files (x86) folder, then they're 32bit, if they're under "program files" then they're 64bit.

as to what you're missing?  just processing power and available RAM to Sonar and the VSTi.

Thanks man, much appreciated....and sorry it took a day or so to respond.

All of the files are pointed to the 64bit versions of the plugins and I don't even have sonar looking at the x86 folder in the global folder.  There are 32 bit versions, but the plugins that are being loaded are the larger file sized 64 bit versions, and they are in 64 bit folders and say 64 bit(some of them) in their "about" pages.....but for some reason all of them only have the single "tick"....making me think they are running in 32bit.....which they are clearly not the 32bit dlls.  The plugin manager, which shows the file destination clearly shows it's pointing to the 64 bit .dlls.

Is this a bug in sonar 8.5?  Only the included plugins(sonitus and x64 plugs) have the double tick in the fx bins in the track and console views.

the plugins are
t-racks 3
ezdrummer
prominy sr5 bass which loads through kontact9(great bass plug)

even guitar rig 3 which says it's 64 bit that came with sonar only has the single tick.

It is not a bug. The " will only show up if the SONAR double-precision audio engine is running AND the plugin can send/receive 64-bit data. It does not indicate whether the plugin itself is a 32 or 64 bit version.
