Hello everyone

First, I am new in this Forum and the SONAR X1 LE is my first "Studio" in which I try to create a few songs by my own. The Software was included as I bought the BOSS MICRIO BR 80, which I want to use as an Audio Interface to record some stuff with my E-Bassguitar.

I installed the USB-Drivers (included on the SD Card) and as I changed it to the ASIO Mode (sorry, don't know if that's the right word) it was possible to record some stuff, but my soundcard did not support this Mode, so I had to change it back to MME (32 Bit). My problem is now, that (when I played the bass) it does not transfer the sound to my PC. I searched through the Forum and Internet, but couldn't find a soultion to my problem. Do I have to change some settings?

Would be great if anyone could help me out or send me a Link to solve my problem. I use Windows XP, if that information is required.

Thanks a lot.
Cheers
Harry

Welcome to the forum.
Did you go here http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=1167 and download/install the latest drivers for your operating system? The drivers on the disk could be years old.

"my soundcard did not support this Mode".
I assume you mean the computer's sound card? If so, that's okay; very few sound cards support ASIO. You'll need to monitor from the BR. Use the BR for both recording and playback.

Hi Gregy

Thanks for your response.

No, I did not download/install the latest drivers. Thanks for this advice, I didn't consider that.

Yes, it's the computer's sound card. Hmm, but this means that I have to record/produce the Songs by ASIO? Isn't there any other possibility? Have to check if I can connect the speakers to the BR 80...

Ah, btw: Is there somewhere in the Limbo of the Internet a tutorial that I could download/watch? I checked some youtube Videos, but most of them are recorded/produced with another Version of the SONAR LE.

Thanks for helping out.

You don't have to use ASIO, but in my opinion, it is the fastest and most efficient driver mode, but using it also means you can only use one audio device at a time. Which is good, really. Since it's almost impossible to sync up 2 audio devices (they all have their own internal clocks), you eventually will have timing/synching issues.
As for videos, I'm sure there are many for X1. Maybe not the LE version, but functionally, they all work the same. Just ignore references to synths and processes your program doesn't have.
The settings, inserting synths and effects, recording and playback methods will be the same, and (most of) the editing features.

OK, thanks for your help. I'll try it out tonight and will update the latest driver for the BOSS MR 80.
