Hello John

I am fine thank you.

Just about to join the ranks of the officially retired.
Looking for a retirement prezzie to myself, but nothing comes to mind.

Hope you are OK now.

McAfee ruled out their software. I got to a second person at iLok who was just as mystified.
Finally, I went to my sync log in iLok, found the last date I synchronized, and restored my
system HDD to that date. Problem solved. I'm now working forward though system changes
to determine where the corruption occurs. If I find it I'll post again.

If you don't have a backup copy to restore, you might try upgrading/reinstalling your copy
of Windows.

For me the only thing that worked was to go to start menu->search box type in "internet" and you should get 2 versions of Internet explorer, one says x64, pick the one that doesn't say x64 and then I could get my licenses installed. Before that I tried all the supported browsers and I just that same timeout error.

Should be trivial for such a big company to add some jscript to detect browser versions and warn about not using x64.

Surely if they are such a big company they should be fully up to speed on 64 bit browsers and everything else for that matter?  A company that purports to sell a 'hi tech' solution should be exemplary when it comes to keeping all their systems up to speed with all the latest widely used standards.

Have you tried running the iLok software "As Administrator"?

I've finished rolling forward, picking up all of the Windows updates and about a dozen software installs and updates.

So far, I'm still seeing iLok sync up correctly. I'm going to chalk this one up to an unknown W7 corruption and move on.

Pace support did suggest dumping cache and cookies, uninstalling/reinstalling client helper, running as admin, and
running the 32 bit version of IE9. None of that worked for me.

There's been many a time I've logged on to iLok's site and had one or all of my iLoks "not found".  Usually just waiting awhile and retrying has done the trick.  I also HAVE to log on using the small box in the upper right corner and not the main center of the page dialog or else things are screwed.  Their site sucks as does their software but in the end it's always worked for me.  Guess I'm lucky.

I was considering the Softube deal but I tried running a demo that needs an iLok,but although my  Ilok software drivers are up to date,I can't get the Ilok to accept any licenses, all I get is no Ilok found.

I am running Win7 with IE9 8gig ram and an intel i5quad processor.

Anyone know if there is a problem using an old style Ilok?

Thanks

Alan

Alan; I received a similar message recently when I opened my new iLok account and tried to download the product.

I was forced to find an older version of FireFox (I beleive that is what the iLok site states to try) and then downloaded the necessary files needed.

It wasn't an easy task but just keep working at it the product is worth it!

P.S. >I have read somewhere that maybe the Google browser might also work??

Good Luck!
