Just got Sonar X1 Producer a couple days ago, loving it so far.

However, when in the piano roll, Sonar will crash if I nudge a note.

It started happening as soon as I turned on "follow snap settings" in nudge preferences. If I leave that off I can nudge all I want, but I'd like to nudge selections by musical intervals, with "follow snap settings" off it also seems the snap grid doesn't work at all, even using the mouse.

Is this a known issue? (I searched and found others having this problem but those posts were old) and is there a workaround?

Which version of X1 are you running?

If you're running X1 straight out of the box, you really should install the X1c update and the X1d update.

Do you have Expanded? If so you need to install via the following route:

X1 -> X1c -> X1 Expanded -> X1d (Expanded)

Ok, got everything updated to X1d.

Still crashing with nudge if I turn "Follow snap settings" on in preferences, only now it only crashes if I nudge a note forward, moving notes back in time doesn't, but one nudge forward and Sonar crashes instantly.

Moving with mouse is fine, so I guess I'll do that until this gets fixed.

Do your nudge settings match with your snap settings? You adjust the nudge settings in the Preferences-dialogue (I assume as I  don't have X1) and Snap Settings are a separate thing.
If your Nudge setting is, say, 3 milliseconds, and Snap setting is 1/4 note, there is a conflict which may cause the crashing.

At least you must have the Snap to Grid off when using Nudge, I believe.

Beware: there is a multilane nudging issue within X1 Exp D as well.... Nudging sideways from a lane other than the top land can result in the midi notes cutting from the clip you're nudging and pasting to the clip in the lane above. If I have the other lanes muted, and muted clips set to NOT show in the PRV then the nudged notes seem to disappear to the muted clip in the lane above. Very annoying! Reproducible by CAKE months ago...no fix.
