I'm trying to do a reinstall of SONAR X1 Expanded.  When I go to uninstall first I get an error message that reads:  File "C:\ProgramFiles\Cakewalk\SONARX1Producer\unins000.dat" does not exist.  Cannot uninstall.

The same thing happens when I go to Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs to try to uninstall.

Then if I try to install SONAR Expanded X1e without uninstalling, I get an error message that reads:  Cannot locate the required version of the program on this system.  Please install the correct version of the program to use this patch.

I don't get it.  I have SONAR Expanded X1d, build number 535 on my computer.  Why am I having these issues?

It seems like you're trying to install Expanded on top of X1d - if this is the case then t won't work. Expanded needs to be installed on top of X1c, then you install X1d.

But build 535 is the most up to date build, so nothing you do will install over that.

Why are you trying to uninstall?

Thanks Bristol.  My Cakewalk Content folder is empty for some reason, so there's no loops, etc. to drag from the media browser.  I was going to reinstall in an effort to get that stuff back.

Then just do a custom instal for your missing loops. There Is no need to reinstall the entire program just for some content.

Thanks for your input, CJ.  Yeah, that's what I thought, too.  But when I tried it, by either uninstalling first or not uninstalling first, I ran into the error messages in my original post.  It might be that I used the wrong order, as Bristol suggested.  I spoke with tech support on the phone yesterday and told them what my issue is with the missing content, and they recommended I do a full reinstall.  So I'm in the process of doing that.  Maybe it'll be a good thing in that it'll solve another problem or two.

Make sure you do a FULL reinstall, meaning you have to delete a couple of important Registry Keys

If you don't know the exact procedure, let me know

Thanks, bro!  I did the full reinstall with the registry key deletions as directed by Cakewalk and so far everything seems to be working well now.
