hehe, you know, my old boogie gives me some of the best ultra cleans i've ever heard,
but all the guitar tones on this one is a POD XT.
i think i used the LINE 6 clean setting, and might have used my outboard Barber Tone Press for compression.
i let the old pod xt go a while back, just could not bond with it...
but before i did, i used it for a few experiments, and this was one of them.
i ran the keyboards into it as well, thru a marshall stack, i think....

wookie
glad you downloaded it...
that seems to always sound better than streaming.
it's got a little bit of 'keys' in it, i should do more keyboard work.
lost all my chops.

thanks man, glad you dig it.
i'm working on the 'song' version right now.
the bass, was my Carvin LB70, in passive mode.
i think i went into a SANSAMP bass di, but it could have been the POD....

thanks man, yes, lots of delay,
i REALLY wanted this thing spacing out,
with a lot of ambient stuff going on,
and sparse clean guitar.....
seems sparse to me, but thats going part by part....
put them all together, and it's pretty busy!
LOL

Bat, another classic from you!  I want to personally thank you for inspiring me to invest in the ARC 2 system.  It has made a world of difference in my mixes and taken my room out of the equation.  All the best, my friend.

Nice! I love the bass a lot. I don't like the strings for it. Needs Roto-sound swingbass strings for this. I love how you have the guitars playing two separate things that mesh together for a stereo effect and all the rest of the atmosphere.

Very well done!!!

This sounds great man!!!! Very funky, it should be the background music for the next Grand Theft Auto game. And I mean that as a compliment.

Thanks for the listen!! Excellent tune!

thanks for listening, and you are welcome about the info on the arc2.
i mean, obviously it's not for everybody....
but it helped me in my situation.

i have a 4th bedroom in a basement setup, that i have stripped down to the sheetrock, and gutted...
and plan on doing an upgrade in the future..
but for now, have it setup as an open studio, and have done a certain amount of sound treatment...
and the arc just helped dial in the stuff i could not upgrade, without spending a LOT of money to get that last 15% dialed in....

so for me, it was a no brainer.

it's cool that it has the other 'virtual' sound curves...
since i've gotten it, i've used laptop, boombox, the old yamaha ns10 curve, to spot check mixes, and it's a nice tool to have.

appreciate the comments....
rotosound, yep, i have a 2nd bass, i've been thinking about setting it up like that, just for those kinds of bass tones.

the idea of the multiple guitars (there are actually 4 active guitar parts, and a 5th for chord filler, and a 6th for ambient) doing different things, but have it all come together, was always the plan...

and it's harder to do than it seems.
well, harder to do and make it actually work.....

some of the parts are improvisation, so i REALLY HAVE TO LISTEN...
but it's easy to empathize a part, when you already did the first part.

i mean, i can actually HEAR multiple parts at once in my head,
so the trick is just to actually execute it.

then, i edit myself as i go along,
if i play something and i know it didn't gel,
i'll go back, erase the whole thing, and start over, til i get one good pass all the way thru that actually works.
it may take me twenty passes, but by the time i do the last one, that part will be dialed in.

and doing it without punching in, gives it that 'off the cuff' feel, almost like the whole thing was improvised.
the arranging of those parts, is what makes it work for a 'stereo' effect.
all the effects are mono effects, but panned in different places.

Nice playing! I like your tone and the use of the wah. Good clean production. So far everything I've heard you do is top notch and this is no different.

Top notch Bat.  Great funky sound and I love that bass sound.

I love your heavier and "fuller" sound but this is also fantastic. Nice and funky - toe tapping and also engrossing, in my case probably because even though its got such a clean sound you really have got so much going on all working together.

I just wish it was longer!

Cheers,
Terry.
