Brandon - for a guy like me that is still on 8.5.3 - if I go to X2 - will I find more flexibility on color and appearance than with X1 ???   It seems like X1 took away some of the color flexibility that 8.5.3 had.  I don't understand why, so I hope it is a thing of the past.  But maybe there is a reason that I am not aware of at this time.
I admire the way Cakewalk people follow this forum.  Most manufacturers do not do this good a job.

This does look pretty slick. However, it also reinforces my su****ion that I am no longer representative of Cakewalk's target market. According to the blog,

Snap grids are vitally important to almost every DAW user. In most cases, a user relies on the snap grid regularly throughout every session.

Sigh. Surely I am not the only surviving dinosaur who never uses grid snap?

I can't recall ever using it either. In fact it has gotten in my way on occasion. Not a problem though.

Now that said I sure like that it is there when and if needed.

What is it with this craze over colour flexibility??? I truly don't get it. I'd personally rather work on making music than play with making SONAR look prettier. That's their job. I let them choose what looks cool and get on with making music...

The next CakeTV Live webinar will feature SONAR X2.

Cool!  Will you guys be tossing new "X2" Ts to the crowd?

BTW, nice right up, Brandon.

Kind regards,

Well - this is what I do not get - why would the color flexibility in 8.5.3 be taken away?  If there is a reason, I would just like to know.   Having different colors that allows functions to be seen better, improves usability.  Otherwise, why was it in 8.5.3 to begin with?     And in terms of time with playing with colors versus making music, it only takes minutes to get the colors in 8.5.3 and they remain.  So color allocations only have to be done once (and color schemes are saved.)
